Off to a roaring start! I couldn’t keep these women from jumping into the icy magnesium pool here at our Soma retreat. Nothing like getting to know your sisters by stripping bare (some were completely bare) & diving right into it. I get the feeling these wild women are going to be FUN!!! #deborahmurtagh #somabyron #womensretreat #womensretreats #switchaura #selflove #returntolove #radicalselflove #spiritualretreat #healyourlife...
Ginger flowers are fragrant & lean themselves toward salads, deserts & as a delightful addition to drinks. It’s one of my Bali pleasures!
While I do have to go off grid to find these at true traditional farmers markets in Bali, they can be found in dried form in many Asian shops around the world, so substitute fresh for dried.
One of the reasons I go hunting in traditional markets for these, is that they are often grown by elderly women who bring them to the market. This time, the woman I got them from would NOT accept the additional money I wanted to give her & insisted I take two bunches & a load of wild greens, all for $3.
While language is a barrier out in the country, & a lot of sign language is used, I am always humbled by the older Balinese out in the villages, there is so much beauty to be found in the generosity of spirit & the love that pours soul to soul through the smiling eyes we share.
Love & gratitude is an energy that transcends language. As I head into running my Byron Bay retreat today, I am looking forward to flying back to Bali next week to reconnect with the love I share with so many who have become my family. Yes! I have unapologetically decided to add more feathers to my hair & even added some colour this time! 😂 And why not? Life is meant to be fun! Who wants to grow up to grow old?
Tomorrow my second retreat at the stunning venue Soma, Byron Bay, kicks off with another group of amazing women saying yes to living their best life.
My retreats aren’t for the faint hearted, you don’t come to my retreats to relax & line up for spa treatments. That’s not true retreat work; that’s a pamper holiday.
You come for a spiritual tune up, & sometimes it’s a bit of a self-love boot camp! There is no room for living in the past, only healing the past. There’s no room for anxiety about the future, only aligning with the future you want to create. It’s where the old is left behind, & the new becomes crystal clear, it’s where egoic perceptions that stand in your way are purified & transmuted into possibilities & where you transcend your self-imposed limitations.
We gather together by divine appointment to remember who we truly are; a soul having a human experience, not a human that has the odd soulful moment. And as the guide during this journey, I see my role is quite simply to shift the tribe from the human ego/the false identity, back to divine love. It’s where we get the privilege to facilitate tangible experiences that remind women who they truly are; the powerful creators of their worlds.
As I say, ‘show me a healed woman, & I’ll show you a TRUE feminist.’
Arrived in Byron Bay after a day of travelling from New Zealand & needed to fuel up. When you’re eating out with others there are ways of reducing your carb & sugar loads while still going with the flow. Here’s one of my tips. Xx
To overcome addiction we have to stack so many more reasons to change, than we have staying in our comfort zones. Even if our comfort zones are uncomfortable, damaging or painful unless we align fully with our new vision & goal we will always default backwards.
